9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
All Novice and Varsity athletes are required to participate in the Crew-a-thon, Brookline Rowing’s major annual fundraising event. During the Crew-a-thon, our athletes knock on doors across Brookline in small teams, answering questions about our program and collecting tax-deductible donations. The Crew-a-thon raises about two-fifths of the $50,000 our team needs annually to fund costs (boats, oars, coaching) not covered by the high school’s athletic department. Teams will be combinations of varsity and novice rowers, equipped with talking points, maps of their targeted areas, and solicitation forms.
Parents, please volunteer to drive teams to their designated neighborhoods, provide food and beverages, or help out in the tent at BHS.
Location: all athletes report to BHS at 9:30 AM.
MAY 13, 2023, 10:00-12:00
In lieu of the Amber Zapatka Regatta (canceled for unsafe conditions), we will have a scrimmage against crews from BAB.
Location: The races will be held in the Basin. A great place to watch is either on the Mass Ave Bridge (Harvard Bridge) or anywhere on Memorial Drive between the MIT boathouse and the BU Boathouse. The finish line is just downstream of the BU boathouse. It can easily be seen from the footpath and is marked by 2 large oar shaped markers.
MAY 20-21, 2023, 8:00-5:00

NEIRA (New England Interscholastic Rowing Association) was created by New England’s private independent schools in the mid-1950’s, and Brookline High is still one of the few public schools that compete in the league. This year we are sending our 1V, 2V, and 3V boys eight boats and our 1V and 2V girls eight boats. We will also be setting up a small food tent for our athletes and family members cheering them on.
Parking is free (see below) and there is a $10 suggested donation per spectator, which can be given at the entrance. More details can be found in this parent guide.
The NEIRA organization is holding a raffle: $10/ticket for a chance to win a new Concept2 erg. Here is the PayPal link.

Come and celebrate a fantastic year of rowing and teamwork with the whole BHS Crew community, at our end-of-season picnic. We'll gather at Artesani park for a pot-luck picnic, hear from the coaches, say some well-deserved thank-you's, and send off our graduating seniors in style. See you there!
